FAQ
-
How long will this course take me to complete?
The course is split into four parts and each part should take you about 3 hours to complete. However, there is no time limit and you can stop and come back to the lessons at any time within a six month period from your enrolment date.
-
Is this part of the official UK Tea Academy qualifications?
This course is based on the internationally recognised Tea Champion course from the UK Tea Academy. But the Tea Champion qualification can only be awarded after completion of this online course (presenting the theory) together with the classroom-based practical course which covers the essential tasting, brewing and blending elements of the Tea Champion course. A certificate will be made available to print at home on completion of the online course, which will provide evidence that you have studied with us. Due to the current closure of our classroom, your Tea Foundation qualification will remain valid until such time as you can visit London or an overseas training centre and attend the Tea Sensory and Practical day to complete your training. The downloadable handouts from this course will help to refresh your learning before you attend the pratical day.
-
Will I learn enough about tea without the practical elements?
We do strongly recommend that you also consider attending our one-day practical course to put all of this theory into practise, identifying a variety of teas and learning to appreciate their taste and aromas. But if you are unable to attend the additional day in person then do not worry, because this online course has been designed to teach you the fundamentals of tea and will improve your confidence in sourcing, brewing and serving tea whether on a professional or personal basis.
-
Will I be guided through the course by a tutor?
You don't need a tutor with this course, as it is designed for self-study at your own pace. Each module or section of the course has downloadable materials which support your study and are course notes for you to keep. If you have technical queries then there is a Help function and the UKTA Online team are available to answer questions by email: [email protected].
-
Can I discuss the course with other students?
If it is reviews and recommendations you are after, take a look at the website www.ukteaacademy.co.uk. Every student who enrols in the online Tea Foundation course will be invited to a private Facebook group where you can discuss your love of tea with other enrolled and past students.
